SIPITANG: A man suffered minor burns to his legs in a house fire at Kampung Mesapol, here on Tuesday night.

The Fire and Rescue Department received the emergency call at 9.12pm and arrived at the scene nine minutes later.

Firefighters found the two-storey semi-permanent house completely engulfed in flames and used multiple water sources to contain the blaze.

The fire was brought under control by 9.56pm and fully extinguished by 11.40pm.

The injured 30-year-old man received treatment from the Emergency Medical Rescue Services (EMRS) but declined hospitalisation.

A total of six personnel from the District Fire and Rescue Station were deployed, assisted by police and Sabah Electricity.
