TUARAN: Kiulu Assemblyman Datuk Joniston Bangkuai has submitted a request to the Tuaran Department of Irrigation and Drainage (DID) for riverbank protection structures in several erosion-affected areas.

The request follows complaints from the Village Development and Security Committee (JKKK), who expressed concern over worsening erosion due to floods.

Joniston visited the Tuaran DID office on Wednesday for a briefing and discussions on riverbank erosion and the need for proper irrigation in Kiulu's paddy fields and fruit farms.

During the meeting, he handed over a list of 17 locations requiring urgent riverbank protection measures to Tuaran District Engineer Mohd Khairul Anwar Abdul Rahman.
