RANAU: The Narcotics Criminal Investigation Division (BSJN) of Ranau IPD arrested three local men aged 42, 36 and 29 in two separate cases here on suspicion of being involved in drug trafficking and abuse.
In the first case, on March 19, 2025, the BSJN team of Ranau IPD successfully arrested a 42-year-old local man on suspicion of possessing 0.32 grams of syabu in the parking area of the Ranau Hospital Forensic Division.
The case is being investigated under Section 12(2) of the Dangerous Drugs Act (ADB) 1952.
In the second case, an examination of two other suspects found four transparent plastic packets containing drugs weighing an estimated 5.28 grams and one transparent plastic packet containing drugs weighing an estimated 0.11 grams.
Both suspects were arrested with the seized items and taken to the Ranau IPD Narcotics Criminal Investigation Division Office for further action.
The results of the initial screening test on both suspects were positive for Methamphetamine and Amphetamine. The case is being investigated under Section 39A (1) of the ADB 1952, Section 12(2)ADB 1952 and Section 15(1)(a)ADB 1952.
The results of a review of the past records of one of the suspects found that he had nine past records regarding drug offenses.
