Sedia, funded by the Economy Ministry, has completed the Sabah Border Area Economic Development Study, identifying nine key sectors to boost economic growth in Sipitang, Nabawan, Kalabakan, and Tawau. These sectors, including tourism, fisheries, palm oil downstream, and cross-border trade, could increase resource value by 330% to RM1.6 billion and create 10,660 jobs by 2040.

Additionally, Sedia's feasibility study on blood cockle farming identified suitable locations across Sabah, potentially benefiting over 3,000 people. Collaboration with the Malaysian Technology Development Corporation (MTDC) has also assessed 10 commercial research projects.
