Dining dilemma: Sabahan explains viral ID display post

KOTA KINABALU: A Sabahan Facebook user apologised through his page on Sunday following social media backlash over his recent viral post about displaying his identity card while dining during Ramadan. 

The user, Verdi Kornelis Omjai, who is a Christian, explained that his original post was intended as a parody, similar to his previous social media content.

Verdi, in his apology video, also shared his 11-year experience of being mistaken for a Muslim in the peninsula.

He described facing frequent questioning from restaurant operators and even enforcement officers despite showing his identification card.
