Helicopters deliver food aid to Nabawan

NABAWAN: The Royal Malaysia Police Air Operations Force deployed an AW139 PGU helicopter today to deliver food aid to five villages cut off by heavy rains since March 22.

Nabawan District Officer Ts Marshal Anthony Idham said Kampung Pangaraan, Binanun, Pohon Batu, Sumbiling, and Tatalan Ulu, home to 200 residents, were affected.

Aid was delivered to Kampung Pangaraan and Pohon Batu today, with Sabah Fire and Rescue helicopters assisting other villages tomorrow.  

Authorities are assessing damages for repair allocations, while the mission involved multiple agencies, including the Civil Defense Force and the Social Welfare Department.
