Kota Kinabalu: Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) Vice President Jin Tze Vun has stepped down from all party posts and quit the party with immediate effect.
In a statement Tuesday, Jin said his decision followed careful deliberation and was not made lightly. “It is with mixed emotions that I formally resign from all my positions in LDP and relinquish my party membership,” he said.
The Petagas Division Chief was joined by 16 division leaders and members in announcing their simultaneous departure from the party.
Jin said in recent years he has grown increasingly convinced the party’s direction has diverged fundamentally from his political convictions.
He criticised the party’s evolving culture, drawing parallels with unresolved grassroots issues in the Klias Division, where he claimed legitimate concerns were being sidelined in favour of unproductive formalities.
“More disheartening is the central leadership’s silence and inaction when these matters are brought to their attention,” Jin said.
