KUNAK: A 58-year-old factory manager was found unconscious near an empty palm oil bunch fire at a factory in Sapang Air near here on Thursday evening and was rushed to hospital.

He was transported to the hospital in an EMRS vehicle, but medical personnel later confirmed his death at Kunak Hospital.

The Kunak Fire and Rescue Department received an emergency call at 5.11pm and a team was deployed to the scene, 14km from the station.

Upon arrival, firefighters found the man collapsed near the fire scene.

Firefighters managed to contain the blaze and prevent it from spreading.
