NABAWAN: At least nine houses in Kampung Saliman, Pagalungan, were affected by a landslide following nearly five hours of continuous heavy rain last Friday.
According to the Nabawan District Disaster Management Committee, no casualties were reported in the incident.
District Officer Marshal Anthony @ Idham said 26 heads of households were relocated to a Temporary Evacuation Centre at the village's Balai Budaya.
The district’s disaster committee is currently distributing food baskets and essential aid, he added.
Due to the lack of road access, the village can only be reached by a 30-minute boat ride, with unstable soil and poor mobile coverage hampering full damage assessment along the Logongon and Tagol rivers.
