Proud to serve: Sabahan woman joins Malaysia’s humanitarian mission to Myanmar
SUBANG: Avlyanie Moidi, 28, from Tuaran, is the only female member of the Malaysian Special Disaster Assistance and Rescue Team (Smart) deployed to Myanmar, Bernama reported.

Despite being away from her husband and child, she said she is proud to carry the national flag on this humanitarian mission, calling it a “big responsibility.”

Avlyanie, who has served with Smart for four years, said she received her mobilisation order at 2pm on Friday and immediately prepared herself for duty.

Fifty Smart personnel, including Avlyanie, departed Subang Air Base Sunday morning for Naypyidaw aboard two Royal Malaysian Air Force A400M aircraft alongside 16 Armed Forces, 13 Police, and 21 Fire Department members.
