Search ends as missing girl’s body found by fisherman in Sandakan

SANDAKAN: The body of a six-year-old girl believed to have been taken into the sea by her mother was discovered on the third day of the rescue operation.

The victim was found by a fisherman at 5.44pm near Pulau Berhala, approximately three kilometres from the incident site.

The fisherman later handed over the body to the police at the Marine Jetty for further action.

Authorities officially called off the search and rescue mission at 8.30pm on Tuesday following the recovery.
