Kota Kinabalu: The Kota Kinabalu High School (KKHS) Alumni Association’s School Meal Assistance Programme continues to make impact, providing essential support to 11 underprivileged students from B40 families.

The initiative, which has been running since 2023, offers year-round meal sponsorship and book vouchers to ensure that deserving students do not fall behind academically due to financial hardship.

At a handover ceremony held at the school, each beneficiary received daily RM5 meal vouchers for the school cafeteria, redeemable for breakfast or lunch.

It ensures that students have access to proper nutrition throughout the academic year. Each student was given RM100 in Popular Bookstore vouchers to help them purchase educational materials and school supplies.

We hope the students will make full use of these book vouchers to enhance their education and leverage knowledge to transform their futures,” he said.

The programme is funded through donations to the Alumni Association’s Educational Assistance Fund, with strong backing from former students.

It also called on more alumni to join their efforts, as increased participation would enable them to extend assistance to more deserving students.

For those interested in contributing or joining the association, inquiries can be directed to 016-838 0022 or Wong Kee Hao at 013-860 7761.
