KOTA BELUD: The newly completed Tamu Desa in Kg Rosok, Tampasuk built at a cost of RM200,000 is set to enhance existing community market facilities, benefitting small traders and local residents alike.
Minister of Entrepreneur and Cooperatives Development Datuk Ewon Benedick said the new facility is part of the Madani Government’s initiative to empower rural economies through allocations by the Ministry of Entrepreneur and Cooperatives Development (Kuskop).
“This open-hall concept building not only improves the facilities at the weekly community market, held every Thursday, but also provides a more comfortable space for traders.
“I’m pleased to see that the local community now has a more conducive venue not only for selling agricultural produce, but also for implementing programmes such as Jualan Rahmah,” he said during a visit to the Tamu Desa Rosok premises on Friday.
Ewon, who is also Kadamaian Assemblyman, said the Tamu Desa premises would serve as a key platform for small entrepreneurs to market local products and stimulate the local economy.
“The Government remains committed to supporting the needs of small traders, especially in rural areas, and will continue to implement the Tamu Desa programme as part of efforts to strengthen the people’s economy.”
He hoped the facility would be fully utilised and become a catalyst for increased income and improved well-being among the local community.
The Rosok Tamu Desa is one of 18 similar facilities in Kota Belud completed through Kuskop allocations in 2024.
