SANDAKAN: A fire broke out at a first-floor residential unit at Sri Taman Flat, Mile 3½, here on Monday afternoon.

Six firefighters from BBP Sandakan responded swiftly, arriving at the scene four minutes after receiving the emergency call at 1.01pm.

The blaze, which destroyed 90 per cent of the permanent structure, was brought under control by 1.18pm and fully extinguished by 1.33pm.

No casualties were reported.
