SANDAKAN: Two men were arrested in separate operations as authorities intensified efforts to curb drug trafficking and abuse in the district.

Sandakan District Police Chief, ACP Ahsmon Bajah, said a total of 325.15 grammes of various types of drugs were seized during the arrests.

The first operation, conducted by the Sabah Narcotics Nucleus Secretariat Unit, took place on April 9 at 10.30 pm. 

A suspect who was nabbed at Lorong Phoenix Park 1, Sandakan, is being investigated under Section 39B and Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952, he said.

In separate raid on April 10, at 10.30 am, the IPD Sandakan Narcotics Crime Investigation Division carried out Ops Tapis Narkotik at the MPS Housing Area, Batu 1½. 

Another male suspect was arrested under Section 12(2) of the Dangerous Weapons Act 1952 and Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952, he said.
