Surprise checks at Anjung Kinabalu, Anjung Senja
Enforcement teams conducting inspection.
Kota Kinabalu: City Hall (DBKK) issued three compound notices during its Ops Didik & Tegur conducted around Anjung Kinabalu and Anjung Senja from 7.30pm to 9.30pm on Wednesday.

Two compounds were issued under Hawkers By-Laws 1966 for operating without a valid permit at D’Walai Mata Biru and Anjung Senja, while the third was issued under Anti-Littering By-Laws 1984 for failure to maintain cleanliness at Anjung Senja.

Led by DBKK Deputy Director-General (Operations) Robert Lipon, the 51-men task force conducted surprise inspections focusing on  food stall hygiene standards, proper display of price tags (to prevent tourist overcharging)  and legal licensing status of vendors.

The operation focused on areas around Anjung Kinabalu, specifically D’Walai Suri and D’Walai Mata Biru, as well as Anjung Senja. Stall operators were reminded about proper food handling ethics, customer service standards, and maintaining cleanliness around their stalls. Traders were also sternly warned to display clear price tags.
