Number of flood-hit villages in Nabawan rises to 32

NABAWAN: The number of flood-hit villages here rose to 32 on Saturday evening, up from 19 the day before.

District Officer Marshal Anthony @ Idham said the latest affected village as of 5.30pm was Kampung Pandiwan.

He said Kampung Tampusison is expected to be next as it lies downstream of the Panawan River.

Following the rising number of evacuees, a fifth temporary evacuation centre has been opened in addition to four others.
