KOTA KINABALU: Two semi-permanent buildings were destroyed by a fire at a carwash premises in Inanam on Saturday evening.

The blaze, which broke out at around 5.28pm, completely razed a workers' quarters cum storage and an office building.

No injuries or casualties were reported, with firefighting teams arriving within five minutes and bringing the situation under control by 5.43pm.

A total of 28 fire and rescue personnel from Lintas, Kota Kinabalu, and Penampang fire stations were involved in the two-hour operation using multiple hoses and water sources.

Firefighters conducted safety checks around the scene before declaring the operation fully over at 7.03pm.
