KOTA KINABALU: Sabah PKR supports Barisan Nasional’s (BN) move to collaborate with Pakatan Harapan (PH) for the upcoming state election but cautions that unresolved tensions with Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) could jeopardise Unity Government efforts.
Sabah PKR information chief Razeef Rakimin welcomed the initiative following an informal PH-BN meeting last November, but stressed Sabah leaders must lead state-level decisions.
He urged BN to resolve issues with GRS to prevent friction that could affect PH’s campaign. Razeef also reminded that Sabah PKR would decide on alliances based on local ground realities, not just national directives.
The November 5 meeting included leaders from BN, PH, DAP, and UPKO. Sabah PKR chairman Datuk Mustapha Sakmud also said the party remains open to cooperation that strengthens the Madani government.
