KUALA LUMPUR: Sabah Governor Tun Musa Haji Aman described the passing of former Prime Minister Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi as a great loss to the nation, remembering him as a true statesman who always prioritised the people.
Speaking after attending the final respects ceremony at Masjid Negara today, Musa extended heartfelt condolences to Tun Abdullah’s family and reflected on their time in leadership during the 11th General Election.
Despite challenges, he said, Tun Abdullah remained focused on national interest and public welfare. He also described the late leader, affectionately known as Pak Lah, as approachable, dignified, and preferring quiet diplomacy over political confrontation.
Tun Abdullah passed away yesterday at age 85 after a battling a long illness.
