Group tailing Perodua Viva being probed 
Kasim said the public are reminded not to take the law into their own hands, especially in ways that may cause harm to others or violate legal procedures.
Kota Kinabalu: City Police are investigating a viral 44-second video clip in social media, showing a group of individuals pursuing a Perodua Viva along Jalan Tuaran Bypass here, recently.

City Police Chief ACP Kasim Muda said the police are working to identify all individuals involved in the video clip, as well as to determine the motive behind the incident. He said the incident is believed to be connected to an attempted cable theft reported in the area.

“The vehicle seen in the video clip has been identified as the one allegedly used by the suspect involved in the theft.

“The case is currently being investigated under Section 431A of the Penal Code for damaging public facilities. If found guilty, the accused could face up to two years in prison, a fine, or both, upon conviction,” he said in a statement here on Wednesday.

He said anyone with information about the incident is urged to contact the Kota Kinabalu District Police Headquarters at 088-529222 or come forward to assist with the investigation.
