Tragic end to search for missing child in Tamparuli

TAMPARULI: A five-year-old autistic boy reported missing since Sunday was found dead by a riverside in Kampung Bahagia Dua, about three kilometres from his home.

The body of Muhd Aniq Faiz Muhammad Ashraf was discovered lodged among floating bamboo debris along the riverbank at around 12.20pm on Thursday.

Tuaran Fire and Rescue Station chief Mohammad Nor Amit said the fifth day of the search and rescue (SAR) operation began at 8.30am.

He said the boy’s body was found during a river search using the ‘water rafting’ technique.
