KOTA KINABALU: Sabah police reaffirmed closer cooperation with their North Kalimantan (Kaltara) counterparts in tackling cross-border crimes during a courtesy visit by the North Kalimantan Regional Police (Polda Kaltara) on Monday.
State Police Commissioner Datuk Jauteh Dikun highlighted the need to enhance information exchange to better address smuggling and other criminal activities affecting both regions.
The North Kalimantan delegation, led by Police Inspector General Hary Sudwijanto and senior officials, visited the Sabah Police Contingent Headquarters as part of ongoing collaborative efforts.
This visit follows a reciprocal trip by Sabah police to North Kalimantan in February aimed at strengthening cross-border security ties.
Both sides agreed to hold a special meeting in Sabah in early June to align standard operating procedures and strategies against cross-border crimes.
