TAWAU: A man was found dead in a water-filled drain near Ba Zhong Commercial Centre around 12.30 PM today.

The location, along Jalan Tawau Lama, connects the town centre to Jalan Damai and Kampung Titingan.

The body was first spotted by the public, who alerted Tawau District Police Headquarters (IPD) and the Fire and Rescue Department. The man, fully clothed in a short-sleeved shirt and black pants, had facial injuries.

The discovery caused traffic congestion as crowds gathered before police arrived to control the situation. Media personnel were asked to leave, and no official statement has been issued by IPD Tawau so far.
