LABUAN: Those who already have personal accident policies or are covered by Sosco (Social Security Organisation) should be excluded from Sabah Government free accident insurance.
“Free insurance to only those who deserved or qualified will avoid wasteful spending and funds saved for use in extending other benefits such as more rural roads,” said activist Haji Abdul Jalil Ghani.
“To put it more simply why give another bicycle to one who already has one, it would be double insurance for the individual.”
Jalil also highlighted the need for stringent processing of applicants to ensure only bona fide ones were approved given the large number of migrants who are believed to possess dubious documents.
