Sabah GOF seizes RM25.7 million worth of smuggled goods in April raids

LAHAD DATU: The General Operations Force (GOF) detained 81 individuals and seized RM25.7 million worth of smuggled goods in 35 raids across Sabah in April.

Sabah GOF Commander Datuk Abdul Rani Alias said those detained included locals and foreign nationals from the Philippines, China, Pakistan, and Indonesia.

Items seized included contraband cigarettes, crude palm oil (CPO), frozen food without halal or import certification, and other smuggled goods.

Among the largest busts was the seizure of over 104 tonnes of unlicensed CPO worth RM2.09 million and 3.096 million sticks of illicit cigarettes valued at RM9.3 million including tax.
