KOTA KINABALU: A 55-year-old man was injured after a Yamaha NVX scooter he was riding was struck by a fallen tree near the High Court along Jalan Tuaran on Friday evening.

The Fire and Rescue Department received the emergency call at 5.35pm and arrived at the scene within four minutes, located about 2 kilometres from the Kota Kinabalu station.

A total of seven firefighters responded to the incident, with support from police and Health Ministry personnel.

The victim received initial treatment at the scene from the EMRS team before being transported to Queen Elizabeth Hospital by ambulance for further medical attention.

Firefighters ended the operation at 5.53pm after ensuring there were no other hazards present.
