Kota Kinabalu District Police Chief ACP Kasim Muda
Kota Kinabalu: A pedestrian was killed while another seriously injured in an accident involving two motorcycles, one of which fled the scene, near Plaza Alam Mesra, Jalan UMS, on Friday.

Kota Kinabalu District Police Chief ACP Kasim Muda said preliminary investigations showed one of the motorcyclists, a woman, was travelling from the city centre toward Sepanggar when the two pedestrians, both of them women, suddenly crossed the road.

The duo were believed to be on their way home to Kampung Delima when the accident happened at about 10.40pm.

Due to the close proximity and abrupt crossing, the motorcyclist could not avoid colliding with the pedestrians.
