Star will never abandon GRS, says Tawik
Robert said that GRS was established based on the aspirations of the people of Sabah who want unity between local parties to achieve political stability in the state.
KENINGAU: Parti Solidariti Tanah Airku (Star) is firm in its stance to remain in the Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) to face the 17th State Election (PRN).

Its Deputy President, Datuk Robert Tawik, stressed that Star would not leave GRS, despite speculation that the party, along with Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS), may leave the coalition to contest solo after the establishment of PBStar.

“It reflects the spirit of consensus and sincerity of all parties involved to put aside differences for the sake of this beloved state,” he said in a statement.

“The combination of these two great figures has not only succeeded in creating political stability in the state, but also made GRS a coalition that is respected and honoured, including by the Federal Government.

“Their ability in fighting for Sabah’s rights has resulted in great success, including the restoration of various state rights enshrined in the Malaysia Agreement 1963 (MA63),” he said.

“We will continue to work hard to ensure that the people’s mandate is maintained and the GRS Government continues to be trusted to rule.

“Only with continued government stability, more development, economic opportunities and welfare incentives can be delivered to the people of Sabah from all walks of life,” he stressed.

Robert also called on all party supporters and members as well as the people of Sabah to continue to stand firm with GRS for the sake of a developed, competitive and dignified state.
