KOTA KINABALU: The United Nations Children's Fund (Unicef) is ready to collaborate with the Sabah Government to find practical solutions for protecting all children in the state, including those affected by migration and statelessness.

Unicef Malaysia Representative Robert Gass said the issue is complex and affects countries beyond Sabah, such as Cambodia and Thailand.

“Children are entitled to basic protections under the Convention on the Rights of the Child,” he said, adding that Unicef aims to help ensure these rights while respecting national laws.

He was speaking after the signing of a MoU between City Hall (DBKK) and Unicef on the Child-Friendly Cities Initiative at SICC on Tuesday.
