Former Kuamut assemblyman accused of sabotaging cement project
TONGOD: A radical political group is allegedly inciting public opposition against the construction of a RM1.2 billion cement plant in Kampung Kawayoi, said Gagasan Rakyat Youth Chief for Kuamut, Willy Frous Darinsok.

He accused former Kuamut assemblyman Datuk Johnny Intang of leading the movement out of political jealousy, claiming Johnny is using misinformation to boost his chances of returning as a candidate in the upcoming state election.

Darinsok warned residents near the industrial zone to be wary of such “malicious propaganda,” adding that the plant, initiated by current assemblyman Datuk Masiung Banah, would bring over 1,000 jobs and infrastructure upgrades, including roads, water, electricity, and telecommunications.

Community activist and former teacher Kim Linupas supported the project, saying it would create job and business opportunities for locals.
