Kota Kinabalu: The State Prisons Department football team are determined to win the Tan Sri Murad Ahmad Cup at the 41st Se-Malaysia Prison Football Championship to be held at Universiti Utara Malaysia in Kedah starting today (Thursday) until May 11.
Coach Roslan Wasli said their mission is to win back the title after missing out on the final in the last two years and they were unlucky last year to finish third after losing on penalties to eventual winners Melaka in the semi-final.
State Prisons deputy director Senior Assistant Commissioner Nasif Sarahan, who handed over the State flag to the team on Tuesday, also called on the players to play with high spirit and try to regain the title in the tournament they once dominated.
Also present at the ceremony were prison wardens Jeremy Jahir and Roy Martin as well as other senior officers.
Meanwhile, the team is led by manager Kip Azlin Mahiruddin with Arif Tumin and Roslan Wasli as coaches and the players are Mohd Dzulfikri, Ramzi Ramlan, Alley Herry Jasmin, Tony Padilis, Dzulridzuan, Mohd Rizal, Juraidi Ambahi, Rosfaizal Samsudin, Welhelmus William, Ikmal Keni, Aldrian J. Agus, Ricco Nigel Milus, Rianto Hardi, Mohd Nornickmat, Mohd Syarif, Hazrun Izzat, Tony Paga and Maxley Johny.
