Man faces gallows for syabu trafficking
The charge is framed under Section 39B(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952, which carries a punishment of either the death penalty or life in prison and whipping with a minimum of 15 strokes.
Kota Kinabalu: A 34-year-old man was tentatively charged in the Magistrate’s Court here with trafficking 59.52gm of syabu.

However, no plea was recorded from Rosli Jamani after the charge was read out to him.

Labourer Rosli was accused of committing the offence on April 30, this year, at 5.10pm, in front of a house at Taman Kepayan here.

In another case, a cake seller woman was charged with theft.

Siti Rosidah Siangho, 28, was accused of stealing a tote bag, three sling bags and a sunglasses at the Kaison shop in the Centre Point complex here on May 3, at 4pm.

No plea was taken from Siti, after the charge under Section 380 of the Penal Code was read out to her.

The court fixed May 13 for mention and released the accused on a bail of RM1,300 in two sureties.
