KOTA KINABALU: The City Hall (DBKK) has issued a stern reminder against vandalism following recent damage to public property in the city.

DBKK emphasised that public amenities are for the shared benefit of all, and damage caused by irresponsible actions incurs high repair or replacement costs.

A recent incident involved a damaged streetlight pole at Jalan Jati, reportedly due to vandalism, which will cost DBKK an estimated RM6,500 to repair.

Individuals found guilty of intentionally damaging public property will be required to pay compensation or face civil claims if they fail to do so.

The 2026 D-MAX also introduces an 8-speed automatic gearbox with sequential shift across the range, including the Single Cab variant, making it the first pick-up truck in Malaysia to offer an automatic transmission in that body style.
DBKK has urged the public to report unethical acts and help maintain Kota Kinabalu as a safe and thriving city for everyone.
