TENOM: The Tenom Pangi hydroelectric power plant is in operation, starting May 14, two years after being damaged by floods and a landslide.
Deputy Chief Minister cum State Works Minister Datuk Shahelmey Yahya said the 66MW facility is a key power source for the state.
"The gradual restart of all three turbines at the Tenom Pangi Hydroelectric Power Station, from October 2024 to April this year, shows the strong dedication of the staff," he said.
"They worked hard to restore the plant's operations and helped increase its power supply to 66MW, which also adds to the electricity reserve for the Sabah Grid."
Shahelmey reaffirmed the government's commitment to a reliable electricity supply, highlighting ongoing plans to meet rising residential and commercial demand and support future development.
