Kota Kinabalu: Former Sabah PKR Information Chief, Chrisnadia Sinam (pic), announced her resignation from Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) and her decision to step back from political involvement.
In a statement, here, Monday, she confirmed that her official resignation letter was submitted earlier this month to Sabah PKR Chairman Datuk Mustapha Sakmud.
A civil engineer by profession, Chrisnadia previously contested in the Tuaran parliamentary seat under PKR in the 14th General Election (GE14) at the age of 35.
She secured 14,870 votes, losing to Barisan Nasional’s Datuk Seri Madius Tangau, who won with 22,494 votes.
She said her departure from politics would allow her to focus on her business ventures, pursue a PhD in Engineering at the Open University of Malaysia and dedicate more time to charity and community service.
