LAHAD DATU: Two foreigners were detained for allegedly causing injury to a man at Kampung Epil, on April 3.

District Acting Police Chief, Supt Jimmy Panyau, said the duo were detained by police at Kampung Tanah Rata, Kunak, for investigation following the incident police believe stemmed from the suspects’ sexual harassing statements against the victim’s wife.

“Result of information and intelligence led to the arrest of the suspects aged 31 and 24 on Wednesday,” he said.

The case is being investigated under Section 324 of the Penal Code for causing hurt with dangerous weapons.

The code carries a jail term of up to 10 years or a fine or with whipping or with any two of such punishment, on conviction.
