Kota Kinabalu: SK Sri Gaya emerged champions of the Under-12 OK9 Tanjung Aru Football Championship 2025 after defeating host SK Pulau Gaya 5-0 in the final at FUT8 Jesselton Point on May 21-22.

SK Sri Gaya advanced to the final after topping Group A and edging SK Stella Maris 2-0 in the semi-final.

A total of 10 primary schools took part in the tournament organised by SK Pulau Gaya.

SK Sri Gaya (Kidball) head coach Musa Ab Rahman said, his player, Mohammad Khairi Mirwansah, who carried the responsibility as team captain, was chosen as the best player throughout the tournament.

He said Khairi would participate in the MSSD KK-level football championship along with several other players selected for the final training and selection session.

Musa, assisted by Coach Zubair Shuhaime and team manager Iskandar Suhaili, extended his appreciation to the SK Sri Gaya administration, Sports and Culture Bureau head Zain Ednie, and parents for their strong support, which helped the team reclaim the title.
