Unregistered meds, syabu seized in Lahad Datu

LAHAD DATU: The district Police detained a 66-year-old man and seized various medicines believed to be unregistered following an inspection on a courier service premise at Bandar Sri Perdana, here, on Saturday.

District Acting Police Chief, Supt. Jimmy Panyau said, acting on information, a team of Police from the Narcotic Crime Investigation Division (JSJN) inspected the premise.

“Following the inspection, the team seized some medicines believed not registered with the Malaysian Health Ministry (KKM) and detained a local man.

“Among the items seized are 60 bottles of ‘Stem Cell Activin’, 20 bottles of ‘Cell Essence Peptide’ 120 pills of ‘Red Cialis Essence and 120 unlabeled pills,” he said, adding that the seizures were estimated worth RM139,000.

According to Jimmy, in a separate raid at Kampung Sri Aman, Jalan Silam, Police detained two men aged 36 and 55 for possessing drugs.

He said, both of the suspects were found possessing 0.18 grams and 0.17 grams of Syabu respectively.

“Both of the suspects were tested negative for drug abuse. However further investigation is ongoing under Section 12(2) of the Dangerous Drug Act 1952,” he said.

In the meantime, Police reaffirmed their commitment in combating drug trafficking activities and health product abuse.
