Man held for threatening wife in Lahad Datu
The local man arrested for  threatening his wife.
LAHAD DATU: A 46-year-old local man was arrested after threatening his wife via Whatsapp.

District Acting Police Chief, Supt Jimmy Panyau, said in an incident on May 22 at Kg Assam, the suspect sent Whatsapp messages threatening to injure his wife and burn her car.

He said police later detained the suspect on Wednesday (May 28) at Kg Sapagaya Hilir.

“Further check conducted on the suspect found that he tested for drugs and has a criminal record.

“The suspect was currently in our custody for further investigation under Section 506 of the Penal Code,” said Jimmy.

In a separate operation, the police arrested a 40-year-old Filipino man at Pasar Rakyat area, Jalan Pantai, for possessing drugs.

Jimmy said inspection on the suspect found 5.60 grammes syabu in his possession.

“The suspect also tested positive for Amphetamine and Methamphetamine.

“Investigation is carried out under Section 39A(1) of the Dangerous Drug Act 1952,” he added.
