BELURAN: A 42-year-old man was injured after the 10-ton lorry he was driving skidded off the road and plunged into a 10-foot-deep drain at Jalan Berkat Setia, Sapi Nangoh, earlier this evening.

Beluran Fire and Rescue Station chief Edoen Macheal said the victim was rescued by firefighters, given first aid, and sent to a nearby hospital by Health Ministry ambulance for further treatment.

The emergency call was received at 4.36 pm, and the team of six arrived at the scene 50km from the station at 5,40 pm. The operation ended at 6 pm after ensuring the area was safe.
