Kota Kinabalu: Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives Minister Datuk Ewon Benedick and Deputy Chief Minister III Datuk Shahelmey Yahya jointly chaired the third meeting of the Coordination and Monitoring Intervention Committee for Federal Development Projects in Sabah, Thursday.
The meeting at the Federal Secretary’s office was attended by State Federal Secretary Datuk Seri Rosli Isa, department heads and technical agency representatives involved in federal-funded development projects that are still in the pre-implementation phase.
According to Ewon, the meeting primarily focused on flood mitigation efforts as well as water and electricity supply projects, particularly in rural and interior regions of the State.
He said the session included discussions on various intervention strategies aimed at ensuring the effective delivery of development allocations for Sabah, with collaborative efforts from all relevant stakeholders.
“This meeting serves as a critical platform to review project implementation statuses, identify real constraints and design intervention measures to expedite project kickoffs and ensure maximum benefit for the people,” Ewon said.
He said the series of Special Intervention Meetings held since the beginning of the year has already produced positive outcomes, with many technical and administrative challenges being addressed more swiftly through direct engagement between implementing agencies, ministries and the State Government.
