TAWAU: A fire broke out at a car spare parts storage workshop at Mile 3, Jalan Tawau Lama, early Monday morning, prompting an emergency response from the Fire and Rescue Department.

Fifteen firefighters from the Tawau Fire Station arrived at the scene, located 7 kilometres away, within six minutes of receiving the 5.44am distress call, and brought the blaze under control by 5.55am.

Half of the non-permanent structure was destroyed, but no casualties were reported and the operation concluded safely at 6.23am.
