ECoS-ILTP: Boosting Sabah’s skilled workforce
Kota Kinabalu: The Energy Commission of Sabah (ECoS) recently organised the Inspirasi TVET ECoS-ILTP Programme at the Institute of Technical and Commercial Training (ILTP).

This event follows the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between ECoS and ILTP.

The programme, held at the ILTP Campus, was officiated by the Chief Executive Officer of ECoS, Datuk Ir. Abdul Nasser Abdul Wahid. The programme aims to strengthen the strategic partnership between the two institutions, particularly in empowering technical and vocational education and training (TVET) related to Sabah’s energy sector.

According to Nasser, ILTP’s recognition as ECoS’s first ‘Adopted TVET Institution’ (Institusi TVET Angkat)’ is a crucial step in developing a sustainable and competitive state energy ecosystem.

Cosmobeauté Malaysia and beautyexpo will expand into East Malaysia with the launch of the Cosmobeauté Malaysia Borneo Festival 2026 at the Sabah International Convention Centre (SICC) from May 25 to 26.
This programme also serves as a platform to provide accurate information about ECoS’s role to trainees, who represent the state’s future skilled workforce.

“Energy for the future starts with you today,” he said, urging trainees to seize the opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of the realities of the energy industry, as well as the challenges and opportunities that exist.

Nasser also took the opportunity to observe the progress in upgrading electrical competency training programmes and proposed sites for gas competency programmes.

Through this collaboration, ECoS and ILTP will work together to enhance skills training in the energy sector, expand networking with industry players, and improve the employability of local TVET graduates.

The programme was also attended by the Assistant Director of JPSM, Puan Zulaikha, EcoS officers, and the management and teaching staff of ILTP.

With the implementation of programmes such as this, ECoS is confident that the synergy forged with ILTP will boost local human capital development and support Sabah’s state energy development agenda.
