KALABAKAN: A 39-year-old foreign man was arrested on Tuesday for allegedly possessing a homemade air rifle hidden in his home at Felda Tengah 2.
Tawau police chief ACP Jasmin Hussin said the suspect was apprehended during a raid by Kalabakan police following intelligence and public tip-offs.
Although no illegal items were found during a body search, the suspect failed to produce valid identification documents.
Further checks, guided by the suspect, led police to discover the homemade firearm inside his residence.
The case is being investigated under Section 8 of the Firearms (Increased Penalties) Act 1971 and Section 6(1)(c) of the Immigration Act 1959/63.
