Man electrocuted while picking mangoes in Papar

PAPAR: A 42-year-old man died after being electrocuted while attempting to pick mangoes in Kampung Bambangan here on Sunday.

The incident was reported at 3.01pm, prompting the District Fire and Rescue team to arrive at the scene seven minutes later.

According to public witnesses, the victim had climbed a tree and used a metal rod to harvest mangoes, which accidentally touched a nearby live wire.

Sabah Electricity cut the power supply before firefighters safely brought the unconscious victim down using a ladder and rescue rope.
