Jamal Yunos says finally cancer-free
In March, it was reported that Sungai Besar Umno chief Jamal Yunos’s health was deteriorating after doctors discovered that his cancer has spread to his brain.
PETALING JAYA: Sungai Besar Umno chief Jamal Yunos has confirmed that he is free of cancer after a five-month battle for his life.

Jamal said that the intensive treatment he underwent had completely removed the cancer from his body, Sinar Harian reported.

“After battling end-stage cancer for four to five months, specialists have finally confirmed that the cancer is no longer in my body,” he said in a statement.

He thanked his friends, loved ones, and others whom he said had never stopped praying for his recovery.

In March, it was reported that Jamal’s health was worsening after doctors discovered that his cancer has spread to his brain.

Jamal, who underwent treatment at a private hospital in Ampang, said he first experienced severe pain in his neck and head while cooking at home.

In December 2023, he was admitted to Prince Court Medical Centre following a recurrence of stage-four lung cancer.

His health had been deteriorating since September 2022, leaving him in a weakened state and causing significant weight loss.
