The operations, code-named Ops Sapu and Ops Selera, were among the department’s efforts to combat illegal immigration.
In the Ops Sapu on June 9 at two locations, three individuals comprising two men from China and another man from Pakistan were detained out of 12 individuals screened.
In the Ops Selera on June 10-11, nine individuals were inspected, resulting in eight of them - a woman from China, two Filipino men and five Filipino women - being detained.
They were detained for not having valid travel documents and are being investigated under Section 6(1)(c) and Section 15(1)(c) of the Immigration Act 1959/63 as well as Regulation 39(b) of the Immigration Regulations.
