Workshop worker killed by tyre explosion in Keningau

KENINGAU: A 20-year-old man died after being struck by a tyre that exploded while he was inflating it at a workshop in Jalan Durok on Thursday.

District police chief Supt Yampil Garai said police received a distress call around 4pm from a man reporting that his employee was found unconscious.

The deceased, identified as Arizal Etin from Kampung Limbawan, was confirmed dead at the scene due to severe head injuries.

Initial investigation found that the victim was hit by the tyre impact during inflation and lost consciousness immediately.
