Sabah PKR lauds court action in mining case
Mustapha stressed that corruption undermines public trust and development, and called for transparency, integrity and accountability to remain at the core of all decisions related to state wealth.
Kota Kinabalu: Parti Keadilan Rakyat (Keadilan) Sabah welcomed the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission’s (MACC) announcement that two state assemblymen and another individual will soon be charged in connection with the mining licence corruption case in the State.

Its Chairman Datuk Mustapha Sakmud said the move reflects public demand for greater accountability in the management of the State’s natural resources.

“This issue has long been a concern among the people of Sabah, who want our natural wealth to be managed fairly and used for the benefit of all.

“We fully support any effort by the MACC to combat corruption, regardless of status, rank, or political influence,” he said in a statement.
